Mothers day

I had forgotten it was mothers day and was pleasantly surprised by Orko and Joy wishing me first thing in the morning. We had biriyani for lunch, it was the best biriyani we have made in a while. Today the fridge looked pretty full so I took a picture. It was a bright and sunny day.

Sunday 29th March - Tea time chat

This was the second Sunday we have had in the lockdown, one full week of us not leaving home. We have just been out on short walks. I have taken Orko for a walk down to Welbeck road and back, but never to the park. We had a lunch of creamy chicken with beans and potato and pasta for dinner. The food stuff will not last us 3 months, but we are not eating badly. Today we had a chat on Zoom with Emese and Nadia's family. It was nice to have the social contact. We later had a chat with Subhadra and Mayukh too. Yesterday night the UK death tool crossed 1,000. The calls were much needed distractions.

Saturday 21 March, Day 1 of staying home.

Mixed emotions as we decide how we are going to structure our days going ahead. The restaurant closure has meant the home delivery and take away options will be open. We are hoping we will be able to do a Mc Donald drive through on days things are not looking very nice. Or may be indulge in an occasional treat from Bombay central. We had the left -over from yesterday for lunch. It was Nan, Kali dal, Lamb Kolapuri, Butter chicken and Malai Chicken. We all skipped dinner as two consecutive meals from Bombay Central meant we needed to give our systems a bit of time to deal with it.

Friday 20 March - last day at school

Today was the last day of school for Orko. Schools closes its doors, but remote schooling continues for a week. This was in line with the UK government's announcement on Wednesday that all schools in UK will be closing from Friday 20th March. What a week it has been!! I had been getting increasingly anxious about the school closure. It was obvious that Uk could not go on as normal with the steep rise in cases of coronavirus infections in Uk. I had been constantly monitoring the number of reported cases in Harrow. Orko had been going to school in sports clothes as they stopped using their changing rooms. The morning assembly was replaced by extended register and all school matches and social events were cancelled. Yesterday we received an email from Mr Calvey saying a parent in pre-prep had tested positive and the family was self isolating. Orko wanted to drop home Kayden and Jaysel as he was not sure when he will see them next. It was nice talking to the boys at the end of the scho...
